Charlotte Elwell Opdyke Perregaux, 91, passed away peacefully after a short illness on July 3, 2019 at her home in Preston CT, surrounded by her family.  She was born in Providence, RI in 1928, the daughter of Hugh Elwell and Lucille (Read) Elwell, and lived and worked in Bozrah, CT, Barrington, RI and Harrisburg, PA before retiring to Preston.
She is survived by her four children, Ann (Opdyke) Deeley and husband James of Harrisburg, PA;  Trish (Opdyke) Smith of Preston, CT; David Opdyke of Liverpool, NY; and Ed Perregaux and wife Cheryl of Fletcher, NC.   She also leaves behind her sister, Ann (Elwell) Forte and her niece and nephew, Glenn Forte and Diann Boyajian and husband James.  
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting, feeding the birds, but her greatest joy was her family.  
She leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Kristen Stappenbeck, Ryanne Potocki, Stephen Opdyke, Julie Opdyke, Richard Opdyke, Tracey Woods, Diana Deeley and Andrew Deeley.  She was also greatly blessed with six great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was predeceased by her 1st husband, Richard Edwin Opdyke, and her 2nd husband, Ed Perregaux.

Calling hours on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 3-4 pm, with a Memorial Service immediately following will be held at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT.    Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
