George Edmund Dyer Sr., born on March 2, 1937, in New London, CT, peacefully passed away in his home surrounded by family on March 17, 2024, in Voluntown Connecticut, at the age of 87. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
George, is known for his dedication and hard work, served as a Shift Foreman at Pfizer for over 40 years. He was a proud member of the Air Force and had a successful career in the military.
In his free time, George enjoyed coffee with friends, woodworking, browsing flea markets, and traveling. His hobbies brought him joy and fulfillment throughout his life.
George is survived by his long-time caregiver and son, Mark Dyer (Voluntown, CT), his daughter June Dyer (Middleburg, FL), son George Dyer Jr. (St. Augustine, FL), and brother Byron Dyer (New York), along with 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren who meant the world to him.
He is predeceased by his parents, George H. Dyer and Cornelius Frazier, his wife and best friend, Betty June Dyer, son Robert Allen Dyer, and brother Richard Dyer.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 1 pm at Pendleton Hill Cemetery in North Stonington, CT, followed by a Celebration of Life at Voluntown Fire House at 205 Preston City Road Voluntown, CT 06384.
