Moosup – Jean Elizabeth Pepin, 66, of Church Street passed away peacefully, in her loving husband’s arms, Sunday August 19, 2018 at the Backus Hospital, Norwich CT, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 12, 1952 in Norwich, CT daughter to the late Charles W. and Catherine (Dufresne) Copeland.  On December 10, 1976 she was united in marriage to Roger L. “Buddy” Pepin, Jr.  He survives her.
Jean was a devoted wife and mother who loved caring for her family.  She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and attended and graduated from Cornerstone Bible College.
Besides her husband she is survived by her sons Scott Speight, Shane Speight, Derek Pepin and Steven Pepin and nine grandchildren.  
She was predeceased by her brother Edward Belair and a sister Mary Gonet.
Calling hours will be held 5:00-7:00PM Thursday at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT.  There will be a funeral service held at The Lighthouse Church of God 33 Plainfield Pike Plainfield, CT at 10:00AM Friday.  The funeral will assemble at church. A graveside service will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich, CT.  For online condolences please go to

To Jeans family i had a wonderful childhood growing up with Jean and her family. They used to live on Terrace Ave in Taftville and i have fond memories of going to her house and playing with Jean. Jean thank you for being a good friend. Scott sorry for your loss.

To Derek, Bree and the rest of the family,

Heartfelt condolences from my family to yours. Jean was truly a loving, genuine and kind person. Is been ages since I've seen her, but she is certainly someone who left a lasting impression on me! I can't begin to describe how deeply I feel for every one of you during this time.

I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. In the bible we find hope and comfort. Jesus said in John 5:28 "the hour is coming in which all those in the graves will hear my voice and come out."
