Dear Liv, Dor, Little Rich, Gussie, Gina & The Fontaine Family,
When I read about Richie's passing, my heart was filled with such great sorrow. The next morning I awoke with the realization of the grief that I am sure you are all feeling. I let my tears flow for you all, as the memories came alive in my mind. Words cannot even express how very heartbroken I am feeling. This life we all share is so short and sacred. It's moments like these that remind us to hold on to each other tighter. Richie was my Dad's best friend and our family loved him so dearly. I will always keep the memories of Big Richie alive in my heart. The love & empathy that I feel for you all, as you mourn Richie's passing, is deeply stinging & my heart goes out to you all. I wish I could take away the pain and heartache, as I send healing energies, love, hugs and prayers your way... I am reminded of this poem written by Stevie Nicks:
"So gather the curtains,
Gather me if only for a moment,
Gather the seconds,
For soon it could be going,
Gather the blessings,
For the years are showing.
A musical western, and we all play the parts.
But when the play is over, what do you do?
You can lose your dreams or keep them.
And the unridden horses ride away.
Your chances of returning to your past are gone.
Your hero's are dying.
The old ones.
The great ones.
Well, if there is the sense in trying.
Not much is a secret anymore.
We all grow up and the veils come down.
But the children go on..."
~Stevie Nicks, 1989.
