Walter James Sawicki, Jr., 83, of Winter Springs, FL., died August 6th 2022.
Walter, son of Walter and Antoinette Sawicki, passed away while spending time visiting Connecticut, the state he was born and raised in. He was preceded in death by Cynthia Kata, his partner of more than 20 years. He is now survived by his two daughters Debbie and Laura Lee, his son Walter, Jr. III, his sister Lorraine Cox, and his good friend Illis Izzarelli. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughter, Delaney.
Walter retired from the IRS as a manager in Santa Barbara in the late 90s, and then for a number of years found a passion for teaching – sharing his tax expertise by training IRS agents around the country.
It would be an understatement to say that he made good friends everywhere he went: He made great friends everywhere he went.
He loved spending time with his family, winning at neighborhood poker, and collecting coins.
He was an avid walker, an incapable handyman, and he loved being teased by his family about losing at the track.
He was happiest when attending his granddaughter’s concerts, and it is an unbearable truth to say that he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Florida - Date to be announced.
Donations in Walter’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital.
