New London – Theodore "Teddy" R. Harrelle, 63, of Canterbury, died at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, on Saturday February 20, 2021.
Teddy was born in Norwich, CT on August 5, 1957, son to Anita (Doty) Harrelle and the late Roland Harrelle.
He attended Norwich Free Academy. He was a longtime resident of Canterbury, and happily retired from his job as a Project Manager for FTS, in South Windsor, CT. He loved to talk about his baseball playing days and never hesitated to remind his family of his playing field accomplishments.
As an avid sports fan, Ted enjoyed watching UCONN womens basketball, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Miami Dolphins. He enjoyed life and especially loved being a grandfather and spending time with all of his grandchildren, Brenden, Maddy, Lilly, Camden and JJ. Ted also had a love for birds, pigeons specifically, and could talk your ear off about them. To know Ted you would have known his obsession with his Dunkin Donuts coffee and how much he loved the staff at the Canterbury Dunkin Donuts, especially when they would give him an extra thing of hash browns. When Teddy wasn't watching sports, playing with the grandkids, or napping, you would be able to find him cutting and stacking wood to maintain a warm household for him and Cathy. He was loved by everyone who ever had the privilege of meeting him. Ted will be missed by all.
Teddy is survived by his wife, Catherine (Rohan) Harrelle; his mother, Anita; his sons, Jason (Katy), of Griswold, Josh (Lindsey), of Moosup, and Kevin (Mallory), of Wisconsin.
Teddy is also survived by his brothers, Rene, of Florida; Richie (Sally), of Griswold, Norman (Missy), of Lisbon, Bobby, of Griswold, and was pre-deceased by Larry (Fran), of Brooklyn .
