Susan D. (Warner) Abran, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister,
and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025, from complications of
kidney disease at Davis Place in Killingly, Connecticut. She was surrounded by her
loving family.
Susan was born on December 7, 1954, to the late Eugene and Dorothy (Senn)
Labonne. She was raised in Lisbon, Connecticut, and eventually retired in Norwich,
Connecticut, where she spent her later years with her husband, Thomas Abran.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Abran, and her three cherished
children: Christopher Labonne and his wife, Georgia Labonne; Jennifer Warner and
Galliehue Blevins; and Peter Warner. Susan was a proud grandmother to Emmanuel
Thresher (Jade), Alex Labonne, Tommy Blevins, and Sam Blevins, and a great-
grandmother to Leo Thresher.
Susan was the sister of Maureen Bieniarz-Pond (Dennis), David Labonne, and James
Labonne (Blenda). She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she
adored. She was recently predeceased by her dear sister, Jane Dumas.
In 1986, Susan graduated from Norwich Regional Vocational Technical School as a
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), dedicating her career to caring for others with
compassion and skill. During this time, she met her best friend of many years, Cathy
Nisbet.
Susan had a passion for crafting, cooking, and baking. She found joy in creating
beautiful things with her hands. It was a tangible way for her to express her love and
affection for you. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Patriots, Husky’s, Celtics,
and particularly NASCAR. She always cheered for her favorite driver, Joey Logano. In
her quieter moments, she and her husband thoroughly enjoyed watching the array of
wildlife in their backyard, especially the birds.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at
the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home, 490 Voluntown Rd, Jewett City, CT, with a
