Shannon Allane (McCormick) Stahecki

November 1, 1955 ~ December 25, 2022 (age 67) 67 Years Old

Shannon Stahecki Obituary

Shannon Allane Stahecki was a determined, strong woman with exceptional principles and beliefs. She lived her life to the fullest and forged ahead even in the face of life’s greatest struggles. On December 25th, 2022, her path took her to Heaven where she can now enjoy everlasting peace. She was 67 years old.

She was born to Owen and Marie McCormick on November 1, 1955. After graduating from Chariho High School, Shannon went on to Beloit College in Wisconsin, and then embarked upon adventures that eventually saw her find her home in Connecticut.

Shannon possessed a strong work ethic which carried her through several interesting career paths in life, including fitting pipes in submarines. Her best calling was a life of service, and she gave 27 years to the American Cancer Society. This job and the lives she touched through it are her crowning achievement; she not only raised money but lifted communities and people up during her work there. It gives us great comfort that so many will remember her.

One of Shannon’s greatest values was that of altruism. When not working, she gave the rest of her time to her grandchildren, daughters, her friends, and her many communities. Her call to service was an inspiration to many.

She was quick with advice, comfort, and a laugh. She was a great patron of the arts. She lived each moment loudly and colorfully. She believed in her faith and in everyone she met, and brought out the best in all of us. Shannon was a powerhouse. She was larger than life.

Shannon passed the very best of her values on to her large family, who will endeavor to live up to her. Three daughters, eight grandchildren, three brothers, and two sisters; and a family she nurtured and chose for herself - in all of these, her spirit lives on.

In lieu of any Funeral services, we will be throwing a party in the Spring to celebrate her life. At that time, we will inter her ashes with her favorite flowering bush, the Lilac. Details will be provided as soon as they become available.
