Roland C. Marsh, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and veteran, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, in Griswold, Connecticut. He was 83 years old.
Born on September 16, 1941, in Norwich, Connecticut, Roland lived a life marked by dedication-to his family, his work, his faith, and his country. He proudly served in the Air Force from 1958 to 1962, demonstrating a commitment to service that would continue throughout his life.
Following his military service, Roland began a long and successful career with Southern New England Telephone (SNET), where he worked for over 28 years. His strong work ethic and reliability earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike. After retiring from SNET, Roland continued to contribute to his community by working an additional 15 years at Capacchione Greenhouse, Inc., where he remained active and engaged well into his later years.
Roland was a faithful member of Anchor Baptist Church, where he found spiritual strength and fellowship. His faith was a guiding force in his life and a source of comfort to those around him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Ann Marsh; their three children: Brian Marsh; John Marsh and his wife Eileen; and Denise Marsh Malavenda and her husband Armando. Roland was a proud grandfather to Benjamin, Natalya, Emily, and Joseph. He also leaves behind his brother, Jon Marsh.
He was predeceased by his father Charles Marsh and his sister, Cecilia Crowe.
Roland’s legacy is one of steadfast devotion-to family, faith, and hard work. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A viewing will be held on August 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gagne-Piechowski 490 Voluntown Road, Griswold, CT, with a service at 11 AM. Private burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Griswold Volunteer Fire Department or American Ambulance Service.
