Roderick J. Molleur, Sr.

Roderick J. Molleur, Sr. 87, passed away November 10, 2024 with his family by his side.

He was born in Norwich, CT to Roderick and Mary (Raikowski) Molleur on April 30, 1937. 

He and Elizabeth (Stott) Molleur were married for 62 years.  He was a loving husband, father and “Grandfather” as he was called by his grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his daughter Judith Lynn, who passed away in 2009.  He is survived by his son Roderick J. Molleur, Jr. of Massachusetts, his grandchildren Raechel E. Altieri of Columbia, Silas T. Surprenant of Norwich and Brianna N. Sobiech of East Lyme.

He graduated from Norwich Free Academy, attended UCONN and graduated from Quinnipiac College.  He was a C.P.A. and employed with Dahl Oil Company as the comptroller, treasurer for many years.  He was an active member of the PTO of Norwich Free Academy and Norwich Public Schools for several years.  Roderick enjoyed golfing, travelling and most of all spending time with his family. 

Services are private and at the convenience of the family. 

The family is grateful for the compassionate care given by the Hospice nurses.
