Roderick Lionel Boucher, 84, of Lisbon, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025. Born on April 21, 1941, in Norwich, Connecticut, he was the beloved son of the late Lionel E. Boucher and Svea (Swanson) Boucher.
Roderick grew up in the Griswold area and attended St. Mary's Grammar School in Jewett City and later Griswold High School. He served his country with pride as a U.S. Army veteran during the Cold War, stationed in Germany from 1959 to 1961 with the 4th Armored Division.
Following his military service, Roderick began a long and dedicated career with Southern New England Telephone Company. He retired in 2004 after 35 years of service as an outside technician and supervisor.
Roderick is survived by his devoted wife, Susan (Lisee) Boucher, and his loving daughters: Kristi (Boucher) McGill and her husband James, and Amy (Boucher) Kelley and her husband Wesley. He was a proud grandfather to Cameron and Alec McGill, and Amanda Kelley. He also leaves behind his sister, Sherill Cyr, her husband Steve, and several cherished nieces and nephews.
Roderick will be remembered for his steadfast work ethic, his service to his country, and his deep love for his family.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Jewett City, CT. The Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT has been entrusted with arrangements. For online condolences please go to www.gagnefuneralhome.com.
