Richard Giella 81 of Griswold passed away peacefully on Oct.19,2023 after a brave plight with dementia. He graduated with honors from Griswold High School where he was offered but declined a football scholarship to Ohio State. Richard proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. He spent time working at E.B training to be a tool and die maker and then worked for Fisher Control Industries until he retired in 2004. He spent his retirement years traveling with his spouse Mary and various friends, They visited many exciting places by land ,sea and air.
Richard leaves behind his loving wife Mary T. Giella, two daughters; Susan Gunderman her husband Kyle, Wendy Cannon her husband TJ as well as a grandson Mackenzie "Mack '' Lamirand. Step-daughter Marian Weaver, her husband Greg and step-son Gregory Pavlak. He also leaves behind a brother Kenneth Giella and his wife Cecilia. He is predeceased by his parents Guido and Emma Giella, his brother Guy Giella and his former wife Christine
