Paul G. Langlois Jr. 69 of Pleasant View St, peacefully passed on July 18, 2022 at his home, lovingly surrounded by family.
Paul was born July 25, 1952 in Norwich, CT, son to the late Paul Langlois Sr. and Evelyn (Boulanger) Langlois. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969-1972, stationed in Germany.
On September 16, 1972 he married the love of his life, Lois (Kumiega) Langlois. During his 51 years with Lois, they built a home and raised a family, making countless memories along the way. Whether a spirited night dancing in the kitchen, or a quiet evening by the woodstove chatting, Paul and Lois were inseparable.
A devoted father, he shared an unbreakable bond with his son, Brian. He cherished family time, and remained close with his siblings. Paul and Gary spent many weekends playfully tinkering around, while Pauline was his source of deep conversation and comfort.
For over 40 years, Paul worked for Courville’s Garage and subsidiary Overland Driveshaft as a mechanic, machinist, welder and driveshaft specialist. His expertise at Overland afforded him many relationships and accolades, and earned him the nickname “shaftmaster”.
After his retirement, Paul still enjoyed working with his hands, being creative and inventive at home. In the evenings, family and friends could find him relaxing on his deck with good music and wine. Paul’s joyful nature was always on display with smiles and laughter. He was a true friend to many.
Paul is survived by his two sons, Brian and Paul III, his sister Pauline Robtoy, three grandchildren, Alecia, Jade and Preston, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Lois Langlois, and his brother, Gary Langlois.
