Patricia Ann (Banas) Mish

Patricia Ann (Banas) Mish, 88, died peacefully at Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT on June 8, 2024, surrounded by her children. Born on December 13, 1935, in Jewett City, CT, she was the daughter of Walter and Helen Banas, who preceded her in death. Patricia graduated from Griswold High School and worked at the American Thermos Bottle Company in Norwich, in the advertising department.

In 1956, Patricia married Theodore Mish Sr., who preceded her in death. She has four children, who survive her: Theodore Mish Jr. and wife Andrea Mish of Virginia Beach, VA; Jean Sarsfield and husband Mark Sarsfield of Gales Ferry, CT; Nancy Allen and husband John Allen of Oakdale, CT; and James Mish of Norwich, CT.  Patricia has one granddaughter, Rachael Ann Foster, and one great granddaughter, Meredith Ann Foster.  She is also survived by her brother Eugene Banas of Jewett City, CT.  She was predeceased by her brothers William Banas and Walter Banas Jr. both of Jewett City, CT. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

 Patricia was a member of Saint Mary’s Church in Jewett City.  She enjoyed crocheting, reading books, and spending time with family and friends.  She was a life-long Red Sox fan.

Patricia was a beacon of love and warmth.  She graced our lives with kindness, generosity and love and will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Jewett City on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 11:00AM followed by burial at Pachaug Cemetery, Griswold, CT. For online condolences please go to www.gagnefuneralhome.com
