Neftali Mendez

Neftali Mendez, was born on December 27th, 1975 in Christiansted, St. Croix, Virigin Islands; and died on November 30th, 2023 at age 47. He was the first born son of nine, and he is predeceased by his siblings Vanessa Perry, Rosa Mendez, Nathaniel Mendez and Joey Melendez. He is survived by both his parents, Abinel Melendez and Hermano Melendez; two brothers, Gabriel Melendez and Jeremiah Melendez; two sisters, Iris Cordeo and Abigail Melendez; one son, Alex Chase; five daughters, Simone Mendez, Korinne Alubowicz, Sabryna Reanud, Savannah Mendez, and Nina Mendez; with three grandchilderen, Nadja Genego, Arianna Terre, and Ruby Godlewski. He was an uncle to many nephrews and nieces. 

Nef loved being immersed in nature.  He was a master carpenter, but was really a jack of all trades. He was the kind of man to always offer the shirt off his back. Nef found his happiest moments with family and friends. He was a loving father, brother, and son. He'll always be remembered as a man of many strengths, with great potential. Some of his favorite sayings being, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger," and "When there's a will, there's a way."
