Mildred “Millie” A. Cole, 91, of Plainfield Road, Jewett City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning at W.W. Backus Hospital in Norwich.
She was born on June 11, 1933 as the youngest child to her parents, Frederick Olson and Trular (Ingraham) Olson. She was predeceased by five sisters and two brothers, her husband of 50 years, Willis “Kid” Cole Sr., her youngest child, Willis Cole Jr., and her two sons-in-law Dennis Riley Sr. and Eric Holcomb.
Millie retired from the Summit Convalescent Home as a laundry attendant, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was an Elvis lover, she loved dancing, she was always happy, and willing to give the shirt off her back for anyone. She loved her word searches and watching her Fox News, crime shows, and Lifetime movies.
Millie is survived by her two daughters, Glenda Cole (formerly Riley) of Taftville and Laura Holcomb of Jewett City, her six grandchildren and their significant others, Kristy Riley and Issac Contino, Den Riley and Faith Sareault, Steph and Travis Hall, Roland Denomme III, Kimberly Cole, and Salina and Brandon Wilson, as well as her three great-grandchildren, Gaea Contino, Alayna Riley, and Will Hillyer, Roland and Salina’s father, Roland Denomme Jr., her many nieces and nephews, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A grave-side service will be held at Pachaug Cemetery in Griswold on Monday, July 29th at 1:00PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at Millie’s house.
