Michelle McCormack Obituary

Michelle Lynn McCormack, 52, of Oakdale, CT, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2024.

Michelle was born on February 14, 1972 in Norwich CT, the daughter of Paula Blan and the late Burton Fellows.

Better known as "Mickey" to friends and family, she was the light in everyone's life. Michelle was a dedicated mother first and foremost. Anyone who knew Michelle knew her children were her greatest pride and joy. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Mimi. She had a vivacious personality and always made the people around her laugh.

Michelle was the most selfless, loving, caring, and helping person. She loved to love people. She could walk into a room full of strangers and become best friends with them all. She was always willing to go the extra mile for anyone, given any situation. No task was too big for Michelle. Any challenge she was faced with, she would overcome it with a smile.

Michelle loved to thrift shop and scrapbook. She also loved to take photos and videos of moments with her family, though she never failed to be present in those moments even when behind the camera. She loved to cook, especially her famous loaded baked potato soup which was always a hit at family dinners. She could sing and dance all day long to Chris Stapleton. She was passionate about interior design and could always make a room look as if it was featured in a magazine. She was an amazing poet and started writing a book about her journey through life. She was strong in her faith which she undoubtedly carried with her always.

She spent most of her career waitressing at Mohegan Sun, where she met many of her closest friends. She also served in the Army National Guard as a Combat Medic and later became a certified EMT.

One quote she lived by was, "Work hard, love more, set yourself free".

Michelle was the heart of our home and family. She is survived by her four children, Cameron "Buddy" (30), Cadey "Cadey Cat" (25), Brooke "Brookey" (23), and Kylie "Kybo" (18), her Grandson Parker "Squishy Squish", her boyfriend Dave Maurice, her mother Paula Brunelle, her two sisters Lisa Kutia and Tracey Fellows, and her two brothers Todd and Tim Fellows. She is also survived by her pets, Butchy Butch and Karl and countless friends.
