Michael James Daniels

Michael James Daniels Jr., 39, of Preston passed away unexpectedly on March 8, 2023. He leaves behind his wife, Tanya M. Daniels, and his two beautiful children, Madison (his goose) and Chase (his bub) Daniels. 
Mike is also survived by his parents, Deborah J. Daniels and Michael J. Daniels Sr. (Patti), sister Amy L. Royer (Jim), nephew and nieces, Joey Lopez, Catelynn Daniels and Scarlett Patron, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Sally M. Daniels, grandfather Vernon L. Daniels and uncle, Mark V. Daniels. 
Mike was born on March 7, 1984 in Norwich, CT and resided in Preston and Griswold for most of his life. He went to Norwich Technical High School and worked as a mason with his devoted father for 20 years. He married his high school sweetheart on August 6, 2011 and they had two children together. As a family, they enjoyed several vacations a year, being involved in the childrens activities, spending time outdoors and being at his father's farm. 
Mike had many passions, including go-kart racing, four-wheeling, Nascar, RC cars, collecting baseball cards and die cast cars, as well as his truck and the never ending quest to its perfection. Mike will be missed so very much by all who knew him. His laugh was infectious and his quirks were unparalleled. He left us too soon, but will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Madison and Chase's college accounts at Jewett City Savings Bank.
Calling hours will be Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 5 to 7 at Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home in Jewett City with services at 10 a.m. on March 17, 2023.
