Maureen Cecelia (Orcutt) Verville

On August 18th 2023 Maureen C. (Orcutt) Verville of Poquetanuck CT passed away in her home. She was born March 28th 1926 in Johnston, Rhode Island to Francis T. Orcutt and Margaret (Leonard) Orcutt. She was youngest of 2 children.

She is survived by her son Michael Verville, his wife Joy Verville of Jewett City CT, daughter Linda A. Verville of Poquetanuck CT, 4 grandchildren Austin Verville, his wife Stacey Perry, Thomas Verville, his wife Carole Verville, Jennifer (Verville) McKenna, her husband Shawn McKenna, Clint Verville, his wife Beth Verville, 7 great grand children and 1 great great grand child.

She is predeceased by her husband Roger Verville, they were married May 22nd 1948, also predeceased by her brother Austin Orcutt and 2 great grand sons, Mason and Shawn JR.

Worked at JB Martin Co. in Norwich CT and United Nuclear in Uncasville CT.

She enjoyed her time with her family, game nights, reading, and paint by numbers. She was an avid crossword enthusiast and even had worked for many years on a crossword dictionary. She gave to numerous charities and volunteered at the Voluntown Library. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by many.  

Grave side service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery Thursday August 24th in Taftville CT at 11AM.
