Mark Broadmeyer Obituary

Mark Broadmeyer, 68, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep on March 31, 2026, in Baltic, Connecticut.

He was born on June 9, 1957, in Norwalk, Connecticut, to Albert Aurthur Broadmeyer and Carolyn Sue Booker, and was raised in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Mark earned his GED and went on to attend Norwalk Community College, where he completed two associate degrees. An entrepreneur at heart, he built and pursued multiple businesses throughout his life. He served as President of his family’s printing company, McAdams & Son, helping to bring it into the future. He also owned his own photography studio, founded Broadmeyer & Co., a home improvements business, and, alongside his wife Anne, ran Broadmeyer Aquatic Engineering, formerly Das Fisch Haus.

He was a true jack of all trades and someone who was always quick to lend a hand. Whether building bookshelves, fixing a problem, or even removing a computer virus, he was someone others could rely on. He was also a certified locksmith and an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church.

Photography was his lifelong passion and constant. He explored many styles, with a special love for film photography, and had a remarkable ability to notice the details others often overlooked. He also enjoyed hiking, fishing, and tropical fish keeping, and was a former president of the Northeast Council Aquarium Society, the Norwalk Aquarium Society, and served as the Wet Pet Gazette editor. He found peace and inspiration both outdoors and in the care of his aquariums.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; daughter, Caetlin and her husband, Charles Halapin; son, Derek and his wife, Amy; and granddaughter, Lola. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Carolyn; and brother, Michael.

Services will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Mark’s memory to the Mohonk Nature Preserve: https://www.mohonkpreserve.org/join/support/

His legacy lives on in the moments of beauty he captured and in the way he taught others to truly see.
