Margaret Ann Machnicki

On Tuesday, February 8, 2021, Margaret A. Machnicki of Wetherfield, CT, passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital after an extended illness.  She was born on March 23, 1946, to the late William and Stella (Baldyga) Machnicki of Jewett City, CT.  She was predeceased by her brother Robert.  She is survived by her sister Elizabeth and John Tischio of Middlefield, CT; her brother William Jr. and Carole Machnicki and nephew William III of Jewett City, CT; her sister-in-law Geraldine Machnicki and nephew Robert of Villanova, PA; and niece Lauren and Brandon Boscia of Conshohocken, PA.  
After she graduated from St Francis School of Nursing in Hartford, she spent a long nursing career at several hospitals, including Hartford Hospital.  She was a dedicated worker who retired in 2015 from The Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.
Peggy was an enthusiastic golfer and bowler, an avid reader of mysteries, and a collector of Peanuts memorabilia.  She enjoyed baking for family, friends, and neighbors and was an expert knitter who created beautiful sweaters for people of all ages.   She enjoyed her four cats and contributed to many animal charities.  She enjoyed going to the casinos and took pride in beautifying her yard and gardens.  She was a good daughter, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend. Everyone will miss her generosity and good humor.  
There will be no calling hours.  The Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City has been entrusted with the arrangements. The burial will be private.
