Margaret Ann (King) Flowers

Margaret Ann King Flowers, 74, of Sterling, Connecticut, went with the lord on June 12, 2022, surrounded by her family. 

She was born on May 2, 1948 in Murphy, North Carolina, to Mary Johnson and Philip King. Spending the majority of her life in Connecticut, Margaret always said she would always be a Carolina girl. In 1966, Margaret met her loving husband Walter Flowers and their journey began. She married on June 24, 1967 and was happily married for 54 years. She was a girl scout leader and worked many years at Benny’s. She was always the life of the party with her personality and certification as a clown which was obtained with her best friend Rita Schelling by her side. Margaret was a devoted mother and grandmother who made it her mission to raise and take care of her family.

She is survived by her husband Walter, her daughter Charlene Salas and son-in-law Elvin Salas, her son Philip Flowers Sr. and his wife Donna Flowers. She has many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her granddaughter Ashley Broccoli, her husband Nathan Broccoli and two great grandchildren Isabella and Giovanni, her grandson Eric Salas and his wife Crystal Salas, her grandson Tony Salas and three great grandchildren Alena, Aria, and Aven Salas, her grandson Andrew Salas and his wife Angela Salas and her great grandson Declan, her grandson Devin flowers, her granddaughter Krysta Margaret-Ann Davenport and her husband Brandon Davenport, and her two great grandchildren Carleigh and Wyatt Davenport, her grandson Philip Flowers Jr, her siblings Mary Mihok, Robert King, James King, and multiple nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents and her great grandson Owen Micah Salas. 

Callings hours will be held from 10:00-11:00AM Monday, June 27, 2022 at Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home.  A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00AM with James King officiating. Burial will be at Pachaug Cemetery, Griswold. A celebration of Margaret’s life will follow at the Griswold VFW.
