Louise Eva (Oropello) Cholewa

Louise Cholewa, 100, passed peacefully on Jan. 11 2023. Born Dec 5, 1922, she was daughter to the late Mary (DiSorba) and Frank Oropello both of Italy. Louise married Stanley Cholewa in 1954 at St. Mary`s Church in Jewett City, CT. She worked at Southwire in Jewett City for 16 years before retiring in 1985. Louise loved decorating for Christmas with lights and figurines spread across her yard and always an oversized Christmas tree in her living room. She also enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino and spending time with her family.

Louise was pre-deceased by her husband, Stanley and is survived by her four daughters; Lori (Mario) Locas, Donna (Charles) Connell, Gena Lynch, and Lu-Ann Chykow. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren; Maurya Locas- Bernier (Christopher), Mario Locas Jr (Elisabeth), Darryl Lynch, Meredith Barnes (Matthew), Alissa Connell, Daniel Chykow Jr (Kelly), Douglas Chykow, Richard Salva Jr (B`ianca), and six great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Colonial Health & Rehab in Plainfield for their care and compassion.

There will be no calling hours, a Catholic mass will be held on Tuesday Jan. 17 at 11am at St. Mary`s Church in Jewett City. A private burial is planned immediately after.
