Linda Camisa, 72, of Plainfield, CT, affectionately known as “Mema,” passed away peacefully at her home on April 21, 2026. She was born on October 18, 1953, to the late Lawrence and Bertha Wieland.
Linda leaves behind a legacy defined by unconditional love, generosity, and devotion to her family. Her warmth and selflessness touched everyone she met.
She was a devoted mother to Jennifer Jones of Norwich and Christine Jones of Plainfield. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Jose, Jordan, and Ariana, and a loving great-grandmother to Jacob and Isabella. The name “Mema,” given to her by her oldest grandson, became the name used by all who knew and loved her—a reflection of the special place she held in so many hearts.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas Wieland. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Lawrence Wieland and Patricia Metzermacher.
Linda cherished every moment spent with her family. Whether it was trips to Disney, relaxing cruises, summers at Strawberry Park, or watching Yankees games at home, those moments meant everything to her. In her later years, she enjoyed living in Tampa, where she loved walks along the Riverwalk, day trips with her great-grandchildren, and Sunday brunches. She also found comfort and companionship in her beloved dog, Daisy.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Herbert Jones in 2009 and Dominick Camisa in 2024.
Linda will be remembered for her kindness, her giving spirit, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
A Calling hour will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 10:00-11:00AM at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home with a Memorial Service to immediately follow at 11:00AM at the funeral home.
