Julian John Andrews (Chu Chu), a true visionary in his time, passed away on May 4th to join his son Glen B. Andrews, and late wife Beatrice Cogswell Andrews (of the Narrangsett tribe) in everlasting glory on the other side.
Julian leaves behind his two sons, Kevin Andrews and Jason Andrews, two grandchildren, Devin Andrews and Cheyenne Andrews, whose childhood he made an impressionable impact on, older brother Ronald Andrews and his daughter-in-law Joanna Andrews.
With his wise words and savvy story telling. His life was full he did it all. Closing the final chapter at the ripe old age of 85. For context, he was a union welder member in the great state of Connecticut. His longest and largest undertaking of a project was the Gold Star bridge in Groton, CT connecting New London, CT. Julian was instrumental in his formative years with his Cape Verdeon kinship. Understanding his father John Andrews was a key player in bringing over a majority of the now Cape Verdeon elders to Norwich, CT. Some kin, some not. All falling under one culture, with a tenacity and fervor to make oneself better off than in their homeland country. To this day the cape Verdeon roots sowed into Norwich, CT continue to thrive and prosper through various business outlets. Julian was a proud Cape Verdeon union man who was a steward and soothsayer of his family and friends. He will be missed dearly. A sage who stuck strongly by his beliefs and will of the masculine nature. We ask that you not mourn this passing but celebrate the incredible legacy he created by the grace of God and his father.
Besides his wife and son, he was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Winona Andrews.
A graveside service will be held 1:00PM Friday, May 15, 2026 at Pachaug Cemetery, Griswold. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00PM at VFW Taylor Hill Road Griswold, CT.
