John Kevin Breen, Sr.

Canterbury – John Kevin Breen, Sr.  passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 17, 2021.
He was born in Norwich, CT on March 8, 1959, son to the late John (Smokey) and Jeanne Breen.  
John, also known by many as “Bean” or “Beanzo”, spent most of his life driving his truck for his company JKB Trucking, LLC.  John graduated from Griswold High School in 1977.  He worked in his younger days at Brewster Orchard and later for Palmer Brothers in Lisbon, CT.  He was a devoted life member of the Jacques Cartier Club.  He loved to cook, you could not keep him out of the grocery stores.  He truly enjoyed his 50’s music and loved to party and entertain.  John was hardworking, generous and always willing to lend a helping hand.  He was a loving husband, father and friend who will be truly missed. Loved by many, appreciated by all he met.
He is survived by his wife Karen (Piascik) Breen, his two sons John Breen, Jr. (Nichole) and Kristopher Breen, and their mother Karen (Rubino) Dupointe, his siblings Edward Breen, James Breen, Sr. (Judy) and Kathleen Breen, sister in law Sharon Breen, his stepchildren Maranda Piascik and Corey Piascik, his grandchildren Ayrilea, Nadia and Trystin Piascik, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Richard Breen.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in John’s memory to BDSRA.ORG, in regards to John’s nephew Matty’s ongoing battle with Battens Disease.
Calling hours will be 4:00PM-7:00PM, Sunday September 26, 2021 at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT.  A graveside service will be held 11:00AM Monday, September 27, 2021, at Pachaug Cemetery, Griswold.
