Jean N. Domingue, 87, of Voluntown, CT, beloved husband of Pierrette Pelletier Domingue, passed away on June 3, 2024.
Born in Courcelles, Quebec, Canada. Son of Lucien & Therese Domingue. Jean was the oldest of 14 children. He came to the United States in 1959, moving into the Hartford area, later to Ledyard, Norwich and settling in Voluntown in 2011. Jean was a Knight of Columbus, an active member of Voluntown Seniors and be belonged to the Griswold Senior Choir. Jean worked for the Carpenter’s Union and built a few houses for himself. In is retirement he built benches for many members of his family, from cutting the trees to finishing the boards to build them. He also enjoyed building bird houses with his partner Katie. He enjoyed gardening and caring for rose bushes. Also, he enjoyed hummingbird wars with a dear neighbor.
Besides his wife of 20 years, he is survived by his son, Wayne Domingue (wife Barbara) of Titusville, FL, his daughter Brigitte of Melbourne, FL, grandson Dakota Domingue (wife Brittany) of Lakeland, FL, grandson Dylan of Georgia and granddaughter Andrea of Titusville, FL. Great-grandson Beaux Domingue and 4month old twins Lillie Mae & Clover Jean of Lakeland. His brothers and sisters Guy, Clermont, Jacques, Michel, Pierre, Paul, Marcel, Claude, Suzelle, Micheline, Claudele, France and Lucie. He is also survived by his stepchildren Daniel Pelletier(Cindy), Diane Pelletier, Line Pelletier (Fred) and Marc Pelletier (Sharon).
Special appreciation to the personnel of Hartford Healthcare Hospice. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jean's memory to Hartford Healthcare at Home's Center for Hospice Care or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 9:00-11:00AM at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home. A Mass of Chirstian Burial will immediately follow at 11:30AM at St. Thomas Church, Voluntown, CT. Burial will be at a later date in Canada.
