Gregory G Lambert passed away on January 14, 2022, after a brief illness, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 4, 1950, in Norwich, son of the late Milton and Irene (Cardin) Lambert. He graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1969, proudly served in the United States Army, and worked as an auto mechanic for many years at Simon and Girard Ford, from which he retired.
In his early years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, drag racing, playing softball, building furniture, white water rafting, and camping. He lived without fear and enjoyed the adventures life gave him. He was a soft-spoken man without strong opinions – just kidding! Family and friends knew him to be a passionate, straight-shooter, with a heart of gold. Greg could fix and build anything and was the first to offer his help. Over the years, he rebuilt hot rods, enjoyed fishing, fly-tying, cruising in his ’67 Camaro and watching the Green Bay Packers. He was a true patriot, with a love for his country and an unwavering love and faith in God. He had a fun-loving spirit and was quite the harmless troublemaker. One of his favorite places to be, was at Beach Pond with his family, where he took joy in sneaky water pranks with his nieces and nephews. Greg wore his heart on his sleeve, with immense loyalty and love for his family. He leaves us with many beautiful memories and his strength, humor and legacy will live on through each of us.
Surviving him are his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Staci (Lambert) and Phil Belisle of Griswold, his “little girl” and love of his life, grand-daughter Kayla Belisle, and his grand-dog Lukas.
His loving siblings, Robert and Denise Lambert of Voluntown, Janice (Lambert) and Patrick Courville of Lisbon, and James and Joan Lambert of Methuen, MA.
Greg had a special bond with his nephews and nieces, Brad Lambert and Susan Choquette of Voluntown, Todd and Victoria Lambert of Voluntown, Joshua Ihloff of Lisbon, Cole, Adam and Cody Lambert of Methuen, MA, Natalie Courville Peterson of Palmetto, FL, Nicholas and Cade Lambert, Logan and Brandon Lambert, and Madison Ihloff.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to Revelation Church, 166 Bishop Rd, Bozrah, CT 06334.
The Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home in Griswold, CT has been entrusted with the private arrangements. For online condolences, please go to www.gagnefuneralhome.com.
