Geraldine L. (Dibble) West

Brooklyn  -  Geraldine L. West 88 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 30, 2021.  She resided at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home in Brooklyn CT for the last two years previously residing in Norwich CT,  Tampa Fl. And Moosup Ct. She was born on September 1st 1932 in Bozrah CT to the late Armond and Marion Dibble. Geraldine was united in marriage on June 7th 1954 to James R West Sr.in Tampa Fl. There they began their life together and started their family of 7 Children. She was predeceased by her husband James and infant daughter Deitra Ann as well as her 3 sisters Mildred Chojnicki, Dorathy Everett, and Barbra Bullock .She is survived by her six children James R West Jr. (Deborah), Pamela M Kane (Mark) Cheryl Dimmock (Jake), John L West (Caroline) Melissa A West, and Wayne R West (Mary) as well as 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Gerry as she preferred to be called dedicated her life to raising her Family and when the children were adults Gerry and Jim moved on to their next stage of life in Tampa Florida where Gerry was a dedicated member of Sheldon Road Baptist Church of Tampa Fl. as well as many years of volunteer work at Town and Country Hospital in Tampa Florida where she received the volunteer of the year award. She enjoyed Bowling building puzzles and any type of arts and crafts and raising her 7th child snowball her cute little Maltese. She could be seen quite often taking Snowball for a long walk in her little doggie stroller. The Family would like to thank the staff and administration of Pierce Memorial for the love and excellent care that Gerry received over the last two years it truly made a difference.
A Memorial Service will be held 10:00AM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Norwich, CT.  Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Uncasville, CT.  The Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Rd Jewett City, CT has been entrusted with arrangements.  For online condolences please go to www.gagnefuneralhome.com
