Gerald Robert " Jerry" Young III. November 18, 1991 - February 4, 2026 - Age 34

Jerry is now at peace with God, no longer struggling and resting in eternal comfort.

Everyone who knew Jerry knew his heart. He was a loving and caring man who would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. His kindness was genuine, his presence comforting and his love for others ran deep.  Jerry had a special place in his heart for animals and showed them the same compassion and gentleness that defined who he was. Jerry found peace in the outdoors, especially enjoying his time spent hiking.

In Jerry's younger years, He shared many cherished moments with his Father, spending time at the racetrack and enjoyed watching him race cars-memories that brought him great joy and stayed close to his heart throughout his life.

Jerry is survived by his Father and Stepmother, Gerald young and wife Gail Young of Griswold, Ct; Jerry's Mother Katherine Durand and her boyfriend Lou Plante of New Hampshire; and his beloved son, Mason Augustin of Griswold, who was the light in life. He is also survived by his sisters Jennifer Tussing, Amanda Young, Jessica Young, Ashley Young and his brother Collin Durand, along with many extended family members and his friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jerry's life during visiting hours at Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home located at 490 Voluntown Road (RT 138) in Griswold on Monday, February 16, from 5:00 - 7:00PM.

A memorial gathering will be held immediately following the services at the VFW Hall at 263 Taylor Hill Rd. in Jewett City where loved ones are welcome to come together to share memories and honor Jerry's life.

Though our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in knowing Jerry is now at peace, free from pain and watching over those he loved so deeply from heaven.
