Obituary
PLAINFIELD—Evelyn Doris Sadowski, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Villa Maria Nursing Home. She was born in Norwich, CT on August 10, 1930, daughter of the late William Joel and Elsie (Thiel) Barber. She was predeceased on January 10, 2022 by her husband Tony, the love of her life. Evelyn worked for many years at Rapid Transit, Inc. until they closed. After that she worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company until she retired. Evelyn grew up in Voluntown, CT, where she would play the organ at the local churches. She loved music, reading, being a mom and grandma. What she cherished most, was spending time with her family at the holidays. She will be missed.
Evelyn leaves behind her sons, Joel Sadowski, his wife Cheryl and Mark Sadowski, his wife Diane; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter, Christine Harrelson and brother, Donald Barber.
A graveside service will be held at Pachaug Cemetery, Griswold on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 11:00AM. The Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT has been entrusted with the arrangements. For online condolences please go to www.gagnefuneralhome.com
