Dorothy Ann (Coughlin) Haskell

Dorothy Ann Haskell, 88, of 68 North Shore Road passed away Sunday at home, due to Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born March 4, 1936 in Norwich, CT, daughter to the late Richard and Ethel (Despin) Coughlin. She married her childhood sweetheart, Arthur Haskell, on October 31, 1953.

Dorothy had a contagious smile and loved her family with all her heart. She enjoyed the fellowship of her church and faithfully served coffee following Sunday services. Her passions included cooking, shopping for deals and spending time with her family. In her later years, she loved nightly pontoon rides, listening to Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and Elvis. She worked as an interior painter for the Coughlin Brothers Builders for many years.

She is survived by her four daughters Linda Dooley (Tom Dooley), Cynthia Kuster (William Kuster), Cheryl Giuliano (Jerry Giuliano) and Betsy Haskell, one sister and three brothers Janis Jolin, Raymond Coughlin, Robert Coughlin, Arthur Coughlin, a sister-in-law Patricia Morris and brother in law Byron Haskell, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Arthur Haskell, a daughter Laureen Conroy, her brothers Richard Herbert Coughlin, James Coughlin, grandson Jeffrey Tarr and son-in-law Randolph Tarr.

The family would like to thank Hospice for all their care and guidance. A special thank you goes to her granddaughter, Amy Medrano, who helped care for ‘Gram’ throughout her illness.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 10, 2024 at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home from 4:30 – 6:30. A service will be held at the Preston City Congregational Church on Friday October 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be immediately following the service at Pachaug Cemetery in Griswold, CT
