Dorothy B. Campbell, 90, of Moosup, CT died peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Dorothy was born on August 6, 1933 in Norwich to parents Clarence and Louisa Roberts Benjamin. She grew up in Plainfield with her parents, three brothers, and sister.
Dorothy graduated from Plainfield High School in 1951. She married the love of her life, Richard Campbell Sr., on May 10, 1952 in Old Lyme. Together they raised eight children and were married for 69 years. Dorothy worked at Plastic, Wire, and Cable (PWC) in Jewett City and Montville, and she eventually retired from Acme Cotton Company in Killingly.
Dorothy was a follower of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, the beach, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her family. She could always be found with a smile on her face and kindness in her heart.
Dorothy is predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Edwin and Raymond Benjamin, her sister, Ann Smith, her loving husband, Richard Campbell Sr., and son Daniel Campbell. She is survived by her brother Nathan Benjamin and his wife Patricia of Charlton, MA, her children Richard Campbell Jr. and wife Geraldine of Moosup, Nina Marco and husband Gordon of North Port, FL, Stanley Campbell and wife Linda of Willington, Peggy Scougall and husband Michael of Glastonbury, Laurie Langlois of Johnson City, TN, William Campbell and wife Jo Leigh of Riverview, FL, and Susan MacGregor and husband George of Lebanon. Dorothy is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous other family members.
The funeral service will take place at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home, 490 Voluntown Rd., Griswold, CT. Graveside service will be held at Pachaug Cemetery on Voluntown Rd. in Griswold. Reception to follow at Bozrah Moose Club. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Masonicare of Wallingford.
