Donald F. Stringer 87, of Central Village, CT entered eternal peace on December 7, 2023. He was the husband of Sonja (Kowalski) Stringer. Born on April 1, 1936, in Moosup, CT, he was the son of the late Edward and Hilda (Marcelina) Stringer.
He was a four-year Army Veteran serving in Germany. He was part of the Lighthouse Church of God family.
He retired from Electric Boat, Groton after 38 years as a Supervisor of the Rigging Dept. He also had been an auxiliary police officer.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Don is survived by his sister Lorraine Hebert of Jewett City, CT, his three children, Donald E. (Susan) Stringer, Debra Hencey (Dan), Susan (James) Mattos, his grandchildren, Nicole, James, Shauna, Matthew, and Cally and several great grandchildren. Also, his beloved dog Benji.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Lighthouse Church of God, 33 Plainfield Pike, Plainfield, CT from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday December 15, 2023, 11:00 a.m. Service, interment will follow at Pachaug Cemetery, Griswold.
