Dawn Marie (Cone) Anderson

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Dawn Marie Anderson

(Cone), 62, of Griswold, CT who passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026. Born November 28,

1963 in Norwich, CT, Dawn grew up in Canterbury, CT, becoming the fourth out of six

daughters to John and Gladys Cone. Growing up in a small rural town instilled strong family

values.

Dawn was tough, funny, and fiercely protective of those she loved. She would go out of her way

to help those in need. Dawn’s love for animals grew from her childhood and she spent much of

her free time with her beloved beagles. Dawn enjoyed cooking, writing, storytelling, and

spending time with family and friends. She was a kind spirit who touched the lives of all those

she interacted with. Dawn would always make everyone laugh even on their worst days. She

leaves behind many friends who can attest to her impact on their lives.

Dawn married Robert H. Anderson on October 18th, 2016. Sadly, Robert passed away on

October 24th, 2022. She leaves behind her two stepsons, Robert M. Anderson and Joseph D.

Anderson.

Dawn worked countless years in the service industry. Her last job was with Meals on Wheels

working for Thames Valley Council for Community Action. She loved interacting with her

fellow employees and clients.

Dawn is predeceased by her parents, John R. and Gladys V. Cone, her husband, Robert H.

Anderson and her sister, Lisa A. Cone. Dawn is survived by her five sisters: Kathleen A. Cone,

Laurie A. Suntheimer, Karen A. Rodas, Allison C. Cone, and Heidi L. Howard.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Further information will be shared with family and friends.
