Daniel Holowaty

Daniel Holowaty, 95, of Edmond Road passed away February 4, 2026 at the W.W. Backus Hospital, Norwich, CT.

He was born May 20, 1930 in Griswold, CT son to the late Stephen and Anna (Zakaluk) Holowaty.  On January 7, 1956 in Griswold was united in marriage to Agnes (Sudol ) Holowaty.  She predeceased him on September 29, 2017.

At an early age he took over the family farm and later went into construction operating many types equipment and later retired from Electric Boat as a crane operator. Daniel volunteered many hours with the Griswold Volunteer Fire Department and was a life member.   He was an avid hunter. Daniel was known for his direct forthright opinions but was always willing to help anyone in need. 

He is survived by his children Robert Holowaty of Danielson, Sandra Andstrom of Manchester, Thomas Holowaty (Sherri) of Griswold and Judith Mcewan (Chris) of Texas, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides his wife he was predeceased by his brothers Nicholas Holowaty and George Holowaty.

A calling hour will be from 10:00-11:00AM at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home with a funeral home service to follow immediately at 11:00AM.
