Connie (Golas, Mckenna) Barry passed away on July 24, 2025 at Colonial Health and Rehab Center.
She was born on September 22, 1928 to Alexander and Clara Golas.
In 1948 she married Francis W. McKenna who was the father of her children. She married Joseph Barry in 1984. Both predeceased her.
Connie worked many secretarial jobs in her life and retired from the State of Connecticut in 1989, where she was a medical secretary.
She enjoyed dancing, watching sports, gardening, making puzzles, knitting, crocheting and sitting on her porch watching hummingbirds come to her many feeders.
She was a communicant of St. Augustine Church in Canterbury where she made many life long friends whom she frequently enjoyed luncheons with.
Being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as they celebrated birthdays, holidays and special occasions were her greatest pleasures.
Besides her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her infant sister Patricia, her sister Marie Bakanowsky and her precious grandson Frankie McKenna.
She leaves her children Frank McKenna and Christine Pike (Charles) of Canterbury and a brother Charles Golas of East Hartford, 3 grandchildren Jeffrey Pike, Justin Pike and Marshall McKenna, 5 great grandchildren Clayton Pike, Thomas Pike, Emily Pike, Colton Pike and Cheyenne McKenna, as well as several nieces, nephews and godchildren.
She touched many lives with her warmth, kindness, compassion and generosity. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.
Connie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
