Obituary

Carol Curry, 84, of Voluntown Connecticut passed away on August 3, 2023, surrounded by family.

 

She was born to Donald and Julia Elder on March 2, 1939, in Washington Pennsylvania.  Carol graduated from Washington High School

 

 In 1961, she married Paul D. Curry, the love of her life, whom she followed into the next life.  Carol’s sister Donna Agnew and her husband Bob survive her.  Carol leaves behind three children Paul David Curry, Jr. and his wife Carol Theisen; Diane Buttermore and her husband Steve; and Bill Curry and his wife Stacey.  Carol is also survived by six grandchildren, Alyssa, Grant, Julia, Anna, Danielle and Evie.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Julia Elder.

 

Carol did many things over the years.  When she was younger she worked in an ice cream parlor and a dress shop in Washington, PA.  When her children were in school she was a lunch lady in the local schools in Maryland.  Later she was a real estate agent and got her brokers license in Connecticut.  Where Paul was her best customer.  She was his agent when they bought the place on Beach Pond where they ended up spending the rest of their days. 

 

She and Paul really loved their labrador retrievers (Stormy, Misty, Gail and Sunny).  She enjoyed traveling with Paul in their camper to meet up with friends in Florida.

 

There will be a private family ceremony at the family gravesite in Washington, PA.  In lieu of flowers consider donating to your favorite charity.
