Blanche Janice (Patecchino) Boyle

Blanche Janice Boyle, age 83, of Windsor Locks, died Friday, October 28, 2022. Born November 11, 1938 in Collinsville, Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late Armand and Leona Patecchino. Blanche, who preferred to be called JANICE, held a DOUBLE Master’s in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. She was the First woman to pioneer the woman’s movement KAMAN Aerospace Engineering.  Janice had designed the Stealth Spy Plane SR71, NASA’s Space Shuttle instrument panel, and redesigned the astronaut seats from 1980 to 1996. She had current testing of the NASA’s Space Suit in 1974, for the Liquid Cooling Ventilation Garment (LCVG), company of Hamilton Standard.

Janice Boyle was a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Ellis Technical Trade School, 1996-2001. 

Survived by her loving Daughter, Julianne R.A. (Boyle) Knutson, of Connecticut. Granddaughter Amber K. Capwen, wife of Andi Capwen, Pennsylvania; Son-in-Law, Craig R, Knutson, Connecticut with; 4 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren, and deceased sons of Joseph, John, and James Boyle.

The funeral service will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at St. Mary of the Rosary Church, 22 North Main Street (Rt. #12) Jewett City, Connecticut. Refreshments will be offered immediately after the service in the hall of St. Mary Rosary Church.

Burial will be the next day at Riverside Cemetery, Windsor, Connecticut on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:30 am.
