Arthur Floyd Syrene

Arthur Floyd Syrene, 86, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Norwichtown Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norwich, CT.

He was born on May 6, 1938, in East Hardwick, VT to the late Arthur and Clara (Brown) Syrene.  He was married to Isabel (Querido) Syrene for 26 years until she passed on December 22, 2011.

Arthur worked for many years as a buyer at Pratt and Whitney industry. People knew him well for his love of card games, checkers and trips to the casino.

He is survived by his four daughters Lisa Viens (Pierre), Lisa Syrene, Sherry Syrene and Rebecca Kenny, three sisters Beverly Taft, Linda Crockett and Betty Tarbok, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Arthur was fortunate to have his daughter Lisa to care for him, alongside his grandchildren Ashley, Brandon, Casey and his great granddaughter Emma.

The family would like to thank the staff at Norwichtown Rehabilitation and Care Center and DaVita Kidney Care for the compassionate care they provided to Arthur.  They all knew him well and his love for sweet treats.

A calling hour will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Rd., Jewett City, CT with a service immediately following at 11:00AM.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
