Aristedes Stephen Johnson

Aristedes Stephen Johnson (Beaver), 62, passed away unexpectedly on November 14, 2024, in New London, CT. Born on September 29, 1962, Aristedes was a lifelong resident of Griswold and a proud graduate of Norwich Tech where he was known as the class Hot rod. He dedicated many years to his craft as a Union Carpenter local 326, a career that showcased his skill and dedication.

Arist was a jack of all trades, often found searching for junk cars, riding his Harley, or enjoying time at the family's property on Billings Lake.  He referred to himself as BG "bad grandpa" because if there was something one of us didn't want the grandkids to do he would be sure to do it with them. To know him was to love him and you couldn't go out anywhere without him knowing someone or starting up conversation with a stranger.  Above all, his children and grandchildren were his world, bringing him immense joy and fulfillment.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristy Beit; son, Arist Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nicole Niewiarowski; daughter Jessica Niewiarowski, his grandchildren, Tyler Beit, Alexis Johnson, Izabella Ware, Chase Beit, Jaylyn Johnson, Scarlett Niewiarowski, and Mariah Oddo. He is also survived by his father Aristedes Johnson and many other friends and family members. 

Arist was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Johnson; His loving and devoted mother, Margaret (Peggy) Johnson; and grandmothers, Theresa Johnson and Margaret Patrylo.

The family welcomes all to pay their respects to Arist at Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home on Sunday, November 24th from 3 to 5 PM. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him.
