New London – Anita Louise Taylor was born August 18, 1944 to Robert and Bette Mae Fox in Scotland Neck, NC.
She was coined as the “voice of the day” where she would answer the phone as she was the switchboard operator and receptionist of The New London Day where she would answer the phone “Good day at The Day” for 25 years before she retired. She also had worked at the Coast Guard Academy serving cadets for Aramark.
She has a daughter Carrie A. Taylor Frantz and son in law Greg A. Frantz, two grandchildren Rachel Taylor and Hailey Marie Frantz, all of Griswold.
She is a sister to Addie Ruth Moore and aunt to Julie, Robbie and Paul all of North Carolina, a cousin to Sheila Davis of Texas and a sister in law to Dennis Moore.
Louise was an active member in the community and involved in many clubs and charities. She was an active member of the Elks Club before her illness but also was involved with the Lions Club, Sailing Club and Singles Club. These clubs also gave her the opportunity to pursue her favorite passion of fishing. Louise was always willing to help anyone in need and her kindness was felt and appreciated by many. Louise enjoyed walking the Niantic Boardwalk with her friends and family and especially her dog, Honey.
She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 5, 2022. Her light and smile will be remembered by many.
