Alfred F. Gosselin

Griswold – Alfred Gosselin, 91, of Griswold passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Madison House in Madison, CT.

He was born February 5, 1932 to Angelina Peltier in Fall River, MA.  He was the oldest of ten children.  He grew up in Fall River, MA.  He married Theresa Jefferies on February 3, 1951 in Fall River, MA.  They were married for 68 years when Theresa passed in December of 2019.  Al and Theresa moved to East Hartford in 1959 with their 3 oldest children when Al got a job at Pratt Whitney in East Hartford.  Also, having 2 more children when in East Hartford.  He retired in 1992 from PWA after 33 years of service. Al held many part time jobs along with his full time one to support his family. A butcher, cab driver, security guard, policeman and many more. 

Al and Theresa loved to go camping and travel in their Motorhome. Health issues caused them to stop. 

Al is survived by his five children Alfred, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Bolton, Rita Pothier of Voluntown, Yvette Grabowski and her husband Chester of Lisbon, James, Sr. of Windham, and Michael Gosselin and his partner David Hutchinson of Tolland, 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and one due any day.

He was predeceased by his wife Theresa Jefferies Gosselin, 2 son in laws and a granddaughter in law. 

Calling hours will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 3:00-5:00PM at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT.  A Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Monday, October 9, 2023 at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home.  Burial will immediately follow in the Pachaug Cemetery, Griswold, CT.  For online condolences please go to www.gagnefuneralhome.com
