Posted by: Marilyn Attenello Wed June 05, 2013 | Gail,
I am so sorry for your loss..a great loss to many. Foster obviously lived a long, full and gifted life...rather than reason to be sad, all the more reason to celebrate the life of such a wonderful, distinguished, and talented man! I am sorry that I did not get a chance to sit and listen to his many stories and lessons. You are in my prayers. Love, Marilyn Attenello |

Posted by: Rosalyn Laudati and James Pick Mon July 01, 2013 | Dear Gail: We travelled with Foster to Spain in the 1980's. He painted a gorgeous portrait of my mother shortly after that trip. It hangs majestically in our home. My mom is still alive and she still loves the portrait. Our deepest condolences to you. He was a really interesting, creative and accomplished individual and we are sorry for your loss. |
Posted by: Lucille Davis Sat July 20, 2013 | I just learned of Foster's death--I wanted to renew acquaintance, and Googled him, to find, to my sorrow, that he was gone. For many years, when I lived in Escoheag, R. I., I had talked and visited June and Foster in their studio. He had asked me to sit as a model for his students, at one time, and he used our family as models for some Sunday School posters he had been commissioned to do. I have treasured the hand-drawn Christmas cards he used to send, as well as other mementos of his work that are in our home.
Gail, I think we met one time--it has been too many years since I have spent time in Voluntown. But I sincerely mourn your loss, and trust that God's comfort sustain you in these days. |
