Preston – Nicholas Dennis Dufresne, 21, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 in Newport, RI.
He was born September 28, 1997 in Hartford, CT son to Dennis Dufresne of Preston and the late Carol (O’Brien) Dufresne.
Nicholas was very active as a child and was practically running and climbing before he could walk. He was happiest in the outdoors, exploring and getting dirty. That energy translated into a love of sports, especially lacrosse, which he played at Norwich Technical High School. While attending he quickly found that he really enjoyed HVAC. Nicholas decided to make it his trade and worked hard at it. He was working for Broad Brook Heating and Cooling. When not working he was often gaming, another hobby of his. Above all else Nicholas loved his family. He always looked forward to the gatherings of his large family.
Besides his father Dennis and his partner Robin Donais he is survived by his sister Melissa Do Couto and her husband Kevin, his paternal grandmother Alice Allaire Halunen, maternal grandfather Joseph George O’Brien and his partner Mary Souza, paternal aunts Diana Beaulieu and her husband Steve, Donna Dufresne LaFrancois, Debra Kunovic and her husband Thomas, paternal uncles David Dufresne and his wife Lori, and Daniel Dufresne and his wife Kim, maternal aunts Jackie O’Brien, Sue Bagdonis and her husband Glenn, Janet Girard and her husband Jerome, Joan Dextraze and her husband David, maternal uncles Larry O’Brien and his wife Kathleen, John O’Brien and his wife Andrea and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Nicholas' memory to Mental Health of CT 61 S. Main Street, Ste, 100 West Hartford, CT 06107.

Please except my deepest condolences. It is been years since I have seen Dennis and I never had the opportunity to meet Nick, but I still can’t imagine your loss or the pain you’re feeling. You, Melissa, and Auntie Alice are in my prayers. Love your cousin, Nancy

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I am tired, I am weak and I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light

Take my hand
Precious Lord
Lead me Home

When my way grows unclear
Precious Lord, Linger near
When my light is almost gone
Hear my cry, hear my call
And hold my hand least I fall

When the darkness appears
And the night is drawing near
And the day is almost gone
At the river I'll stand
So guide my feet and hold my hand

Take my hand
Precious Lord
And lead me home

Dennis our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please accept our condolences.

Nick you will forever be in our hearts
Valerie, Julian, Jade

Rest in peace Nick. I was one year below you at Norwich Tech and we never got too close but we still talked a bit and you were a great friend nonetheless. My condolences go out to you and your family. May you rest in peace the HVAC trade has lost a great worker.
