Barbara K. Sullivan 81, beloved wife of Thomas J. Sullivan formerly of Groton died peacefully in her home in Griswold on Thursday, January 17, 2019.  

Born in New London on January 6, 1938 she was the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Irene Koschmieder. She is survived by a younger brother Ernest Koschmieder of Gales Ferry and his family.  

Barbara loved spending time with her family, that is what brought her her greatest joy. Barbara always looked forward to her next adventure with her husband and children.  

Barbara enjoyed working as a florist at Stop and Shop for many years, she loved greeting customers and always had a smile for those she met.

In her free time she loved taking boat rides with her family or quietly sitting on her deck with her husband watching and waving to other boaters going by their home. She loved traveling with her husband and her dogs Khloe and Bear.

In addition to her husband Tom, Barbara is survived by her son David Sullivan and his wife Renee as well as her grand daughter Taylor Worley and her husband Dan, all from Arkansas. Barbara is also survived by her daughter Laurie Sullivan and her fiance Earl Bass from Florida, as well as her youngest daughter Sherri Gagnon and her husband John and grandson Conor Gagnon from Griswold.

There will be a celebration of Barbara’s life on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 10:00 am at Gagne-Piechowski funeral home at 490 Voluntown Road in Griswold, CT. The burial will immediately follow at Pachaug cemetery.
