John P. Suplicki, 90, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Bayberry Commons in RI.  John was born June 25, 1927 in Norwich, the son of Kazimierz (Charles) and Caroline (Janoszek) Suplicki.  He attended High Street School in Norwich, enlisted in the Navy in 1945, retiring in 1965 after 20 years, and then retired from the State of CT DOT in 1985 after 20 years.
John was married on September 3, 1951 to Jeanne Arpin Suplicki who predeceased him on September 21, 2017.  He lived in Griswold for 60 years and is survived by his four children:  Carol Joly, Joyce (John) Lamothe, John S. (Sheryl) Suplicki, and Joan “Nellie” (Raymond) Rondeau; 8 grandchildren:  Jennifer, Jeremy, Kellie, Amy, Michael, Brian, Alyssa, and Brittany; 3 great-grandchildren Isabelle, Greyson, and Anders; a sister Josephine Lynick and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his siblings Frances, Edward, Joseph, Walter, Stella, Anna, and Stanley.
John loved to garden, woodwork, fish, polka dance, and watch the UCONN basketball games.  He was a communicant of Preston City Congregational Church where he helped with many special events.
A memorial service will be held 10:30AM Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Preston City Congregational Church Preston, CT.  Interment will follow immediately at the Pachaug Cemetery in Griswold. My deepest sympathy to John's family. He stole my heart the first time I met him. What a wonderful man he was. I enjoyed our conversations and joking around. He will always have a special place in my heart. May your memories bring you comfort at this difficult time.
