Preston- Donald I. Sheldon Jr., 75, of Preston, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 10, 2018. He was born in Westerly, RI 8/2/1942, a son to the late Mary (Andrews) and Donald I Sheldon Sr.. He is survived by his loving wife Priscilla (LePage) Sheldon.
Donald was a good man... Donald loved fishing all his life. He loved nature, the majesty of mountains and oceans. Over the years, Donald collected everything.. old sugar packets, old bottles, coins, everything old. A familiar face for many years at flea markets all over. He was a member of the OTLS club. Don could watch Westerns all day. Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, all the cowboys. He worked with wood, refinishing old beat up things into beautiful warm pieces of history. He was a diehard Yankee's fan and enjoyed watching the games with his sons. But more than anything, he loved his family, his wife of 57 years, his children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He was a kind man, a good man, and will be so very much missed.
In addition to his wife Donald is survived by his sons Donald Sheldon and wife Sonya, Scott Sheldon, Jason Sheldon and wife Nicole; granddaughters Rachel Papasian,Coleen Sheldon,Geneva Sheldon; great granddaughter Alana Jane Fezai and numerous nieces and nephews
Donald was predeceased by his brothers Kenneth Sheldon and Ralph DiRobbio.
Services are private and are being entrusted to the care of the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home.
