Lottie (Rosol) Sanders, 94, of Norwich, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 in the comfort of her family.
Lottie was born Dec. 20, 1922 in Jewett City, CT, the daughter of Joseph and Magdalena (Glowacka) Rosol.  She attended St. Mary Grammar School in Jewett City and graduated from Griswold High School Class of 1940.  
She married Roman Buffin on Feb. 2, 1946.  On Sept. 19, 1978, she married Kenneth Sanders in Taftville, CT.  He predeceased her on April 13, 1994.  
Mrs. Sanders was a State of CT employee working in the Nursing Dept. at Uncas-on-Thames Hospital in Norwich for eighteen years, retiring in June 1988.  She was a member of CSEA #403, VFW Post 594 Ladies Aux. Norwich, Griswold Senior Citizens and Friends of Slater Library.
Known for her friendly nature, Lottie actively enjoyed sewing, gardening, golfing and square dancing.  She was very proud of her husband, Ken’s, military service and took great pride in showing her patriotism especially on military holidays.  
Lottie is survived by her sister, Leonora LaFrancois, of Jewett City.  She is also survived by her step family, Jeffrey Sanders of Hawaii, Russell Sanders of Florida, Sharon Chandler of Virginia, and Mark Sanders of Uncasville and their families.   She leaves behind a very special niece, Irene Goddette, plus many nieces and nephews.   Lottie especially appreciated the love and attention she received from the LaFrancois family during her later years.
Mrs. Sanders was predeceased by her brother, John Rosol and five sisters, Helen Eastham, Mary Ambot, Bertha Goddette, Emilia Rosol, and Genevieve Romeszewski.  
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Jude Commons, Norwich; Villa Maria Nursing Home, Plainfield; and Masonicare Hospice of Mystic for the care and support of both Lottie and the family along the way.
  Visiting hour will be held on Wednesday Nov 1st from from 10:30-11:30 am at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road, Jewett City, CT.    Burial will follow within the Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Masonicare Home Health and Hospice, 104 S. What a lovely picture of Lottie! She liked it when her hair was fixed and she always had such a great smile. I'll miss our luncheons with Lee and Walter - she was part of such a warm, loving family.
