Griswold – Doris Mae Porter, 88, of Edmond Road passed away Monday evening at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 23, 1929 in Norwich, CT daughter to the late Frank and Marion (Marthers) Bailey.  On August 23, 1958 she was married to Page S. Porter.  He predeceased her on September 7, 2004.
Doris was a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Griswold.  She loved to read and make puzzles but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  
She is survived by her children Daniel Porter and his girlfriend Debra Devine, Michael Porter and his wife Christine and Kathleen Dansereau and her husband Paul, her sisters Emily Donahue and Elizabeth Lyman, her three grandchildren William Porter, Kevin Porter and Taylor Dansereau, one great grandchild Madisyn Porter and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by her two brothers Alfred and Ralph Bailey.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Doris’ memory to First Congregational Church of Griswold.  
A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Thursday at Pachaug Cemetery, Griswold.  There will be no calling hours.  The Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT has been entrusted with the services. For online condolences please go to www.gagnepiechowski.com

Kathy, my heart goes out to you and your family. I know it is hard but just take comfort in knowing your mom is at peace. Lost my mom in May so I know what you are going through. Sending prayers your way.
